All Level Between Juventus and Milan Heading into Second Leg

Calcio returns this week and we have a thrilling game to look forward to in the Coppa Italia. We have reached the second leg of the semi-final and on Friday the 12th of June Juventus will play AC Milan at the Allianz Stadium.

The tie currently stands at 1-1 following the first leg at the San Siro stadium and there is all to play for in this match.

Juventus came away from the first leg with a 1-1 draw thanks to a penalty scored by Cristiano Ronaldo in stoppage time. That result means Juventus have lost one of their last 5 games in all competitions with the defeat coming at the hands of Lyon in the Champions League. However, they won each of their last 3 Serie A matches before the season was suspended.

In the Coppa Italia this season, Juventus entered the competition at the round of 16 stage and had little trouble in brushing aside Udinese 4-0. A more difficult task was at hand in the quarter final but with home advantage Juventus beat Roma 3-1 to set up this meeting with AC Milan.

Trends show Juventus have lost only one of their last 11 Coppa Italia games. The defeat came in the quarter final stage last season as Juventus suffered a shock 3-0 defeat at the hands of Atalanta. They have scored at least one goal in 15 of their last 16 Coppa Italia matches including 7 across their last 2 home games in the competition.

AC Milan will be disappointed to have conceded an away go in the first leg. Having taken the lead, AC Milan had Theo Hernandez sent off thanks to a second yellow card after 71 minutes and held on until stoppage time. A VAR-awarded penalty allowed Juventus to get a draw they did not deserve.

Prior to the suspension of the Italian football season, AC Milan were struggling to win games. They have won only one of their last 6 matches in all competitions and that came at home against Torino in Serie A on the 17th of February. Since then, AC Milan have drawn at Fiorentina and lost at home against Genoa.

In the Coppa Italia this season AC Milan have defeated SPAL 3-0 at home plus Torino 4-2 at home, the latter of which required extra time. Trends show AC Milan have lost only 2 of their last 7 away Coppa Italia matches but both defeats have come at the hands of Juventus.

Team news and Juventus could be without striker Gonzalo Higuaín who suffered a muscle injury in training. Merih Demiral has returned to training but may not be fit enough to start the match.

AC Milan will be without Léo Duarte and Zlatan Ibrahimović who are both injured. Goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma has recovered from his ankle problem and should be fit.

Given this is the first return to action for both teams following the break, it is difficult to call. Juventus will coming to the game as favourites but AC Milan have a good recent record in the Coppa Italia. We could see both teams scoring and the match going into extra-time, with the possibility of penalties.
