Inter Likely to Ease Past Serie B's Parma in the Coppa Italia
2814

After just two Serie A games since the end of the World Cup, Inter Milan will park their impressive league form for a battle with Parma in the Coppa Italia as the Serie B side continue to battle for promotion back into the top flight.

It's Parma's second season in Serie B and they are already struggling to prove themselves and avoid becoming a regular attendee in the league.

Last season, they finished 12th, but now they sit with seven wins and six losses from 19 games and are up into sixth in 2022/23.

The club have also scored 25 times and let in only 20 goals, but they remain behind the league leaders Frosinone by 12 points already from the same amount of games played.

Worse yet, with such a small difference in points, should Parma lose their next Serie B game and others around them win, the club could drop to as low as 13th in the table in one move.

Action continued for the Serie B side during the World Cup, but they have just one win in the past two months in the competition since beating Cittadella 3-1 away from home. Parma lost to Modena and Benevento soon after, while drawing with Cagliari.

A further loss to SPAL and a draw with Venezia means two games have passed since the 2-0 win over Brescia. Last time out in the Coppa Italia, Adrien Benedyczak scored the game's only goal as Parma beat Bari 1-0.

As for Inter, they have had two very contrasting results since action resumed in Italy. A 1-0 win over league leaders Napoli meant that Simone Inzaghi's men were the first side to beat them in Serie A this season, as Edin Dzeko netted in the second half with a fantastic header.

However, Inter blew a lead twice against a former Serie B side last time out, Monza. The club drew 2-2 with Inter, after Matteo Darmian's goal was cancelled out with an equaliser one minute later, just as Denzel Dumfries unfortunately conceded an own goal in the last few seconds of the game after Lautaro Martinez scored in the first half too.

Inter remain in fourth, however, following on from Lazio's defeat, while they sit just three points behind AC Milan as well.

Forebet predicts a win for Inter here as the Serie B sides haven't been in good form at all. Forebet also predicts the game to see under 2.5 goals.
