Following Milan and Inter’s San Siro showdown, Fiorentina and Juventus meet in Florence for the second Coppa Italia semi-final on Wednesday.

This clash will see Dusan Vlahovic return to Stadio Artemio Franchi only a month after leaving Fiorentina to join Juventus for a whopping €80 million.

The Serbian prodigy racked up 49 goals in 108 appearances for Fiorentina and has since netted four in six for his new club. He has admitted to having mixed feelings ahead of the reunion.

In the Serie A standings, fourth-place Juventus lead eighth-place Fiorentina by eight points. Fiorentina have scored four more goals, but Juve have conceded 11 fewer.

Fiorentina were beaten 2-1 by Sassuolo on Saturday. That defeat ended a run of three straight wins for the club from Florence.

Not only have La Viola won three of their past four games, but they have also lost just two of their previous eight across all competitions.

Fiorentina’s route to the Coppa Italia semi-finals began with an easy 4-0 victory over lower-league Cosenza. They then beat Benevento to reach the last 16.

Vicenzo Italiano’s men thrashed Napoli 5-2 in the round of 16 before securing their place in the last four with a 3-2 win over Fiorentina.

As for Juventus, they beat Empoli 3-2 on Saturday. Funnily enough, Vlahovic bagged a match-winning brace – underlining his ability.

That means Max Allegri’s side head into Wednesday’s clash on a nine-game unbeaten streak across all competitions.

It is also worth noting that Juve are currently enjoying a 13-game unbeaten run in Serie A. With Inter faltering, Allegri’s men are now genuine title contenders.

Juventus entered the Coppa Italia in the round of 16, crushing Sampdoria 4-1 before beating Sassuolo 2-1 to seal a place in the semi-finals.

Head-to-head: Juventus claimed a 1-0 win over Fiorentina in Serie A back in November, with Juan Cuadrado netting a stoppage-time winner.

Fiorentina have only managed to win one of their last nine meetings with Juve, suffering six defeats in the process.

Team news: Fiorentina look set to be without defensive midfielder Lucas Torreira on Wednesday. The Uruguayan is the only injury doubt for La Viola.

The big team news for Juventus is that Vlahovic is expected to lead the line against his former club. Key players such as Giorgio Chiellini and Paulo Dybala are injured, however.

Given that both Fiorentina and Juventus love to attack, Wednesday’s clash is destined to be a high-scoring affair with goals at both ends of the pitch.

With that in mind, Forebet predicts that both teams will score over 1.5 goals. As for the result, a draw is the most likely outcome.
