Fourth in the Eredivisie travels to a Premier League struggler as West Ham United play host to AZ Alkmaar in the Europa Conference League in this first leg of a semi-finals in the Europa Conference League.
Both sides are bidding to get into their first major European competition for a long time, with this set to be West Ham’s first final if they get through here, just as Alkmaar look for their first since 1981.
At the same time, in terms of their league form, it is the Hammers who are struggling the most.
West Ham have been battling down in the relegation fight all season long, but they head into this game with a gap of seven points now on the bottom three after defeating Manchester United 1-0.

As for Alkmaar, they had a huge game against Ajax last weekend and drew 0-0 in Amsterdam. The club remain fourth and two points behind Ajax in the league table and six adrift of the Champions League qualifier spot of second.
Another underwhelming season in the Eredivisie has been made much easier to forget about after beating the Serie A giants Lazio in the Europa Conference League. The club would beat Lazio 2-1 in Rome before collecting another 2-1 victory at home to the club.
Alkmaar also made easy work of their group stage in the competition by winning five of the six games and losing only to Apollon. They also netted 12 goals and conceded six from the six games.
