Sevilla likely to be too strong for Real Zaragoza

Real Zaragoza may be relishing a day off from the pressures of the La Liga 2 season when they play host to La Liga top flight side, Sevilla, in the next round of the Copa del Rey at their Estadio de la Romareda but the hosts still face a tough task against the visitors.
Real Zaragoza dropped down into the lower reaches of the Spanish second tier and into 16th place following a 2-0 defeat away from home at Mirandes in their opening game of 2022 while the last few weeks have seen the hosts slip to three losses in their last four games.
Although they registered a 2-0 home win against Burgos in the previous round of the Copa del Rey, Real Zaragoza have also suffered recent defeats to Almeria and Tenerife in La Liga 2, while overall results on home soil have yielded just three wins out of their last 15 matches in all competitions.
Sevilla have collected four wins out of their last five matches in all competitions and the visitors will be feeling confident about their chances of progressing through to the next round of the Copa del Rey at the expense of their hosts, Real Zaragoza.
Recent impressive Spanish top flight victories over Athletic Bilbao, Atletico Madrid and Cadiz have helped Sevilla up into 2nd spot behind the La Liga leaders, Real Madrid, while a win on penalties in the previous round of the domestic cup competition away from home at Andratx ensured their progress through to this round.
Sevilla have also been pretty consistent on the road as well as the visitors have suffered just the three defeats out of their last 17 matches on their travels in all competitions.
One of them was the 2-1 loss at league leaders, Real Madrid, and a 1-0 loss away at Salzburg in the Champions League.
In addition, Sevilla have also claimed eight wins out of their last 10 cup ties on the road and they look well placed to pick up another victory in Thursday’s cup-tie.
Sevilla possess a strong head-to-head record against Real Zaragoza as the visitors have lost just one of the previous eight meetings and Sevilla should be too strong again for their hosts in this cup clash as well.
