Real Betis are flying high in La Liga ahead of Wednesday night’s away match against Real Valladolid in the Copa del Rey round of 32.

Los Verdiblancos are third in La Liga. Coach Manuel Pellegrini could bring Champions League football back to Real Betis for just the second time. However, there is a lot of football still to play this season.

Real Valladolid will welcome Real Betis to the Estadio Jose Zorrilla for the Copa del Rey round of 32. The Blanquivioletas are on a run of good form. Real Valladolid have won four straight matches in all competitions.

The Blanquivioletas defeated lower league team Marchamalo 1-0 in the first round of the tournament. Real Valladolid followed up the victory with a second-round win over Las Palmas 3-1.

Real Betis entered the Copa del Rey in the first round with a victory over Alicante 4-0. Los Verdiblancos drew in the second round versus Talavera de la Reina at full-time. Real Betis then scored twice in extra-time to punch their ticket to the round of 32.

Real Valladolid have been excellent at home this season. The Blanquivioletas have posted a record of 9W-2D-1L at the Estadio Jose Zorrilla.

The team’s defence has been excellent at home, allowing just seven goals to opponents. The Blanquivioletas have scored 22 goals at home in 12 matches in all competitions.

Real Betis go into the Copa del Rey fixture on a poor run of form. Pellegrini’s team are winless in three straight games with each of the last two ending in losses.

Los Verdiblancos have posted an away record of 7W-2D-5L in all competitions. They have scored 24 away goals and conceded 21 times.

Real Valladolid were relegated from La Liga last season. Prior to relegation, these teams had played multiple times in the league for consecutive campaigns.

Betis posted a record of 5W-5D-4L across their last 14 matches in all competitions against Real Valladolid. Four of those 14 matches ended with both teams scoring and four of those 14 games saw over 2.5 goals.

Pellegrini has three players that could miss the fixture. German Pezzella and Claudio Bravo tested positive for COVID-19 and could miss the match. Victor Camarasa is a doubt due to a muscle issue.

Rojo Martin has several more players set to miss the game. Kike Perez, Ruben Alcaraz, and Kiko Olivas tested positive for COVID-19 and will likely miss out. Saidy Janko, Hugo Vallejo, and Moctar Sidi El Hacen are also doubts to make the squad for Rojo Martin.

Real Betis may have finished 2021 in poor form, but they should claim a win at full-time against Real Valladolid. Los Verdiblancos should right the ship with a win and over 2.5 goals scored. Expect both teams to score, too.
