Frankfurt’s winless run continued at the weekend as they went down 2-1 away at Wolfsburg. Tuesday’s hosts have now failed to win any of their last eight games in the Bundesliga, even though they have scored in all bar one of those encounters.
However, Frankfurt still remain unbeaten at home in the league this season, securing four draws and one win. Both teams have scored in each of Frankfurt’s five home matches, which suggests that the hosts won’t go down without a fight on Tuesday.
Before that weekend defeat, Frankfurt had drawn each of their last five league games, and over 2.5 goals have been produced in three of their last five outings.
Over the last couple of campaigns, Frankfurt have struggled when they have gone up against Gladbach.
Tuesday’s visitors have won three of the pair’s last four encounters and last season they won home and away against Die Adler.
Gladbach haven’t been the most consistent of teams this season and only sit one place and 4pts above Frankfurt ahead of Tuesday’s clash.
The visitors could only manage a draw at home to Hertha Berlin on Saturday and have now failed to win their last four matches in all competitions.
Both teams have scored in four of Gladbach’s last five fixtures and four of their last six matches have produced over 2.5 goals.
Defending has been an issue for the visitors of late with Gladbach only managing to keep one clean sheet in their last six attempts in league and cup.
Gladbach have had mixed results away from home in the Bundesliga this season, picking up two wins, one draw and suffering two defeats.
On the injury front, Jetro Willems and Ragnar Ache both remain side-lined for the hosts, while Eric Durm remains doubtful due to a pulled hamstring.
Gladbach won’t be able to call upon Yann Sommer or Jonas Hofmann until late December as both are struggling with muscle injuries. Ramy Bensebaini tested positive for COVID-19 and won’t be able to play for the visitors for at least another week.
