Wolfsburg claimed a 2-2 draw at Cologne last weekend, despite twice going behind. Arnold equalised for the visitors in the 29th-minute, but Wolfsburg found themselves 2-1 down at the interval. Early in the second forty-five Weghorst scored Wolfsburg’s second equaliser and this time the visitors held on to secure a point.

Friday night’s hosts are still yet to lose in the Bundesliga this season, only Bayer Leverkusen can match that record, but Wolfsburg have drawn a lot of those matches. Six of Wolfsburg’s 10 league games have ended in stalemates this season, which is why they only sit 5th in the Bundesliga table.

Both teams have scored in four of Wolfsburg’s last six competitive and non-competitive matches, while over 2.5 goals have been produced in three of their last four league games. None of the last eight encounters between Wolfsburg and Frankfurt have produced a single home win. You have to go all the way back to 2016 to find the last time the home side won when these two teams locked horns.

Frankfurt extended their current unbeaten run to five matches as they drew 1-1 with Dortmund last time out. Kamada put Frankfurt in front in the 9th-minute and the hosts held that lead into the half-time break. However, just 11-minutes into the second half Reyna equalised for Dortmund and that was how the game remained.

Frankfurt have now drawn each of their last five league games and seven of their 10 matches in the Bundesliga this season. The visitors have avoided defeat in three of their last five league games against Wolfsburg and will be confident of doing the same on Friday. Both teams have scored in each of Frankfurt’s last five league games and over 2.5 goals have been produced in three of their last six outings.

Wolfsburg will be without the services of Admir Mehmedi until February at the very least, while Joshua Guilavogui has a thigh injury that looks likely to keep him out of action until late December.

Andre Silva and Marijan Cavar are expected to be out of action until later this month for Frankfurt, while a virus means Ragnar Ache could miss the entire Christmas period.

This game has draw written all over it but there is a good chance we will see over 2.5 goals scored.

Both teams are in the midst of unbeaten runs and it’s difficult to see either side slipping to defeat on Friday night.
