Hamburg have undergone a difficult time in recent Bundesliga campaigns. However, HSV have made a bright start to this season and will look to continue that good start when they host RB Leipzig on Friday night.

Markus Gisdol’s side have kicked off their Bundesliga campaign with a win over Augsburg and last time out defeated Koln 3-1. The wins mean that HSV are now unbeaten in five games in the German top-flight.

Hamburg’s home record in the Bundesliga is good, as they have lost just once in their last 13 games at the Volksparkstadion in the German top-flight. In fact, the home side have recorded wins in six of their last eight home games in the Bundesliga.

HSV also won the last game between these two teams back in February, recording a surprise 3-0 win in Leipzig. The home side would be more than happy with a repeat of that result.

The visitors have enjoyed a mixed start to their Bundesliga campaign so far. They opened their league campaign with a 2-0 defeat at Schalke, before winning 4-1 against Freiburg last time out in the German top-flight.

Ralph Hasenhuttl’s team have now won just one of their last four games in the Bundesliga stretching back to last season. Their recent Bundesliga games have been high scoring, though, with over 2.5 goals scored in four of their last five games in the German top-flight.

The visitors have also experienced mixed fortunes on their travels, but have won just two of their last seven Bundesliga away games. Leipzig’s away games in the German top-flight have been high scoring, with over 2.5 goals scored in seven of their last eight outings.

Forebet predicts that Hamburg’s resurgent this season will continue with a victory in this clash and the visitors will suffer their second defeat of their Bundesliga campaign.
