Borussia Dortmund’s defence is quietly having a strong season in the Bundesliga. The Yellow and Black conceded just 31 goals in 25 matches.

Will defensive Dortmund stop Eintracht Frankfurt from flying high in attack in round No. 26?

Eintracht Frankfurt are in good form ahead of their trip to Signal Iduna Park on Sunday. The Eagles are unbeaten in five straight games. They took eight points from the last 15 on offer.

Eleven goals were scored by Frankfurt across the last five games. After a slow start to the season in front of goal, Eintracht have come to life in the final third.

Borussia Dortmund are on a two-game winning streak in the Bundesliga. A 2-0 win over Union Berlin was followed by a 2-1 win against Werder Bremen.

Both clubs are chasing Champions League qualification, which will add plenty of spice to the tie.

The Dortmunders defeated PSV Eindhoven in midweek Champions League last-16 play to progress to the quarterfinals. Edin Terzic’s side won 2-0 and eased into the elite eight of the competition.

Dortmund have not played well at home in recent weeks, failing to win three of their last five home matches.

Their last home matches ended in a shock 3-2 loss to Hoffenheim. Twenty-three of Dortmund’s 47 points have come from home matches.

Eintracht Frankfurt failed to win four of their last six road matches in the league. The Eagles were outscored 20-19 at home in 13 games.

Borussia Dortmund went unbeaten in five of their last six head-to-head matches with Eintracht Frankfurt. The teams’ previous meeting this season in Frankfurt finished 3-3 in a wild six-goal game. Each of the teams’ last six meetings saw over 2.5 goals.

At one point in the reverse fixture, Frankfurt led 2-0 thanks to two goals from Omar Marmoush. However, Marcel Sabbitzer and Youssoufa Moukoko pulled Dortmund level.

Fares Chaibi put the Eagles back on top until Julian Brandt scored with 10 minutes left, as the game finished 3-3.

Dortmund have been brilliant against Eintracht Frankfurt at Signal Iduna Park. The Yellow and Black won 12 of their last 13 matches at home versus the Eagles. There were over 2.5 goals in the teams’ last nine games versus Frankfurt at Signal Iduna Park.

Although Dortmund have won their home matches versus Frankfurt, our algorithm predicts a 2-2 draw between these Bundesliga rivals. Frankfurt’s recent scoring exploits should help them land a point away in Dortmund.
