Real Madrid will continue their pursuit of a record-extending 36th La Liga title when they welcome struggling Celta Vigo to the Bernabeu on Sunday.

With 11 games remaining, Los Blancos find themselves seven points clear of second-placed Girona, while Celta sit five points outside the relegation zone.

This preview covers all the key stats, trends and analysis ahead of Sunday’s clash. Read on to find out what Forebet’s algorithm predicts.

Real Madrid were held to a 1-1 draw by RB Leipzig on Wednesday, although Carlo Ancelotti’s side booked their place in the Champions League quarter-finals with a 2-1 aggregate win.

Remarkably, Los Blancos have now lost just one of their previous 32 matches across all competitions, suffering a Copa del Rey defeat to Atletico Madrid in January.

Real Madrid’s last La Liga defeat came all the way back in September, with Ancelotti’s men taking 51 points from a possible 63 since then.

It is also worth noting that Los Blancos have avoided defeat at the Bernabeu this season, picking up 16 wins and three draws at home across all competitions.

Meanwhile, Celta Vigo secured a much-needed victory over Almeria last time out, notching a narrow 1-0 win to heap more misery on the division’s bottom club.

Thanks to a previous 2-2 draw with Cadiz, Celta Vigo have taken four points from their previous two matches, but they remain in danger of relegation.

Still, Celta can take confidence from the fact that they have lost just two of their last seven away league outings, picking up one win and four draws along the way.

When you look at the bigger picture, however, Celta Vigo have only managed to win three of their previous 22 away games in La Liga.

Head-to-head: Real Madrid have won each of their last seven La Liga meetings with Celta Vigo, scoring 19 goals while keeping three clean sheets.

Celta’s last league victory over Real Madrid came back in 2014. Since then, Los Blancos have won 17 of the 19 meetings between the teams.

Team news: Real Madrid will be without the suspended Jude Bellingham this weekend, while Thibaut Courtois, David Alaba and Eder Militao remain sidelined through injury.

On the flip side, Celta Vigo’s injury list features Joseph Aidoo, Carlos Dotor, Mihailo Ristic, Miguel Rodriguez, Williot Swedberg and Renato Tapia.

Despite Celta’s recent improvements on the road, Real Madrid shouldn’t struggle to extend their lead at the summit of the standings.

Forebet predicts that Real Madrid will score over 1.5 goals on their way to defeating Celta Viga, whose relegation fears look set to grow this weekend.
