Real Madrid aiming for fourth straight win to start the La Liga season

Real Madrid won 24 of their last 28 matches against Getafe in all competitions. Last season, Los Blancos did the La Liga double over Getafe, with identical 1-0 scorelines.

Carlo Ancelotti’s team started the La Liga season in fine form. Madrid won each of their opening three matches, outscoring opponents 6-1.

A 2-0 away win over Athletic Bilbao was followed by a 3-1 victory against Almeria. Madrid defeated Celta Vigo 1-0 away in round No 3.

Getafe picked up four points from their opening three games. Having fought relegation throughout last season, Los Azulones will be happy with four points from nine.

An opening-day nil-nil draw against Barcelona was followed by a 3-0 loss at Girona. Getafe rebounded in round No. 3 with a 1-0 win over Alaves.

Getafe do not have many goals in the squad. They scored just once in their opening three games and conceded three times.

With Real Madrid’s strong record against the city rivals, the question will be how many goals will Los Blancos score?

Madrid average 16.3 shots per game in La Liga, which is the second-most in the competition. Midfielder Jude Bellingham has four goals already and has contributed 67% of Madrid’s scoring. If the goals from midfield dry up, Madrid’s lack of a proven No. 9 could haunt them.

Getafe are top of the aggression stats in La Liga. Los Azulones received more yellow cards after three games than any other team.

The club from the Madrid suburbs received 12 yellow cards and one red card in the opening three matches.

Real Madrid kept a clean sheet in 10 of their last 11 matches against Getafe in all competitions. With Madrid’s defence playing so well this season, there is a strong possibility they will keep another shutout versus Getafe.

Getafe manager Jose Bordalas could be without four players. Jose Angel Carmona is a doubt due to physical discomfort.

Midfielder Mauro Arambarri is ruled out with an ankle injury.

Midfielder Luis Milla is suffering from physical discomfort and could sit out the match. Forward Enes Unal will miss the game due to an ACL injury.

Ancelotti has a host of injuries to key players. Vinicius Jr is out until after the international break due to a thigh injury. Midfielder Dani Ceballos is a doubt due to a muscle injury.

Defender Eder Militao is out until next year with an ACL injury. Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is also out with an ACL injury. Defender Ferland Mendy is a doubt thanks to a muscle injury. Summer signing Arda Guler is out with a meniscus injury.

Despite the fitness and injury issues, Madrid should post a win at full-time against Getafe to pick up a fourth win from four games this season.

Madrid should also keep a clean sheet, with a 3-0 victory.
