Manchester City and Manchester United will meet in the FA Cup final for the first time in history when they do battle at Wembley Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Having already wrapped up the Premier League title, Man City can take another step towards the treble this weekend, with a Champions League final against Inter Milan around the corner.

Man Utd, meanwhile, will go in search of their second piece of domestic silverware this season, having defeated Newcastle United in the EFL Cup final back in February.

Pep Guardiola’s men kicked off their FA Cup campaign with a 4-0 thrashing of Chelsea before dispatching Arsenal and Bristol City to reach the last eight.

After crushing Burnley 6-0 in the semi-finals, City claimed a 3-0 victory over Sheffield United to punch their ticket to the showpiece.

Manchester City enjoyed a mammoth 25-game unbeaten streak between February and May before losing 1-0 to Brentford on the final day of the Premier League campaign.

That said, having won 22 of their previous 29 matches across all competitions, City will be confident of returning to winning ways at Wembley.

As for Manchester United, they secured successive 3-1 victories over Everton, Reading, West Ham United and Fulham to reach the FA Cup semi-finals.

Following a goalless draw after 120 minutes of action, the Red Devils defeated Brighton & Hove Albion on penalties to book their place in the final.

Erik ten Hag’s men head into Saturday’s showdown on a four-game winning streak, having dispatched Wolves, Bournemouth, Chelsea and Fulham to cap off a solid Premier League campaign.

However, given that third-placed United finished 14 points shy of table-topping City, the Red Devils could struggle to overcome their rivals on Saturday.

Head-to-head: Man City thrashed United 6-3 earlier in the season, but Ten Hag’s side gained their revenge with a 2-1 victory in January.

When you look at the bigger picture, United have managed to win just two of their last seven meetings with City, losing three of the previous four.

Team news: Man City stars Manuel Akanji, Jack Grealish, Ruben Dias and Kevin De Bruyne are all doubts for Saturday’s clash.

On the flip side, Man Utd are currently without Anthony Martial, Marcel Sabitzer, Lisandro Martinez, Donny van de Beek and Phil Jones due to injury.

Although United are expected to rise to the occasion, Man City should have enough firepower to secure the silverware at the expense of their rivals.

Forebet predicts that Manchester City will notch a narrow victory over Manchester United, while Guardiola’s men are also expected to keep a clean sheet.
