Fresh from reaching the last four of the UEFA Champions League, Manchester City will aim to keep their treble hopes alive when they face Sheffield United in the FA Cup semi-finals at Wembley on Saturday.

Sitting second in the Premier League table – four points behind Arsenal with a game in hand – Man City head into Saturday’s clash as obvious favourites.

That said, Sheff Utd will fancy their chances of upsetting the odds at Wembley, as they find themselves second in the Championship – seven points inside the top two.

On Wednesday, Manchester City held Bayern Munich to a 1-1 draw at the Allianz Stadium, advancing to the UCL semi-finals thanks to a 4-1 aggregate victory.

Pep Guardiola’s men have now avoided defeat in each of their last 15 matches across all competitions, picking up 13 wins and two draws along the way.

Man City kicked off their FA Cup campaign with a 4-0 thrashing of Chelsea before defeating Arsenal 1-0, with a 3-0 victory over Bristol City securing their place in the last eight.

Having crushed Burnley 6-0 in the quarter-finals – thanks largely to a hat-trick from Erling Haaland and a brace from Julian Alvarez – City will be confident of dispatching Sheffield United.

Still, the Blades will not go down without a fight, as they have enjoyed a hugely impressive campaign up to now, fighting on two fronts in the process.

Not only are Sheff Utd in the FA Cup semi-finals, but they are also in the hunt for Premier League football, sitting second in the Championship with four games remaining.

After dispatching Millwall and Wrexham in the early rounds of the FA Cup, Sheffield United knocked out Tottenham Hotspur before defeating Blackburn Rovers to advance.

Having won 11 of their previous 16 games across all competitions, the Blades could cause an upset at Wembley, but they will have to be at their very best.

Head-to-head: Believe it or not, Sheffield United have won all four of their FA Cup clashes with Manchester City over the years.

However, Man City won all four Premier League meetings between 2019 and 2021, with Guardiola’s men keeping a clean sheet on each occasion.

Team news: Manchester City defender Nathan Ake is a doubt for Saturday’s clash after picking up an injury against Bayern Munich on Wednesday.

On the flip side, Sheffield United will be without the injured trio of Jack O’Connell, Rhian Brewster and Enda Stevens this weekend.

Although Sheff Utd have done well to reach the semi-finals, Man City are expected to flex their muscles and reach the showpiece.

Forebet predicts that Manchester City will seal a low-scoring victory over Sheffield United, with Guardiola’s men expected to keep a clean sheet.
