Leicester City will host Championship club Blackburn Rovers at the King Power Stadium on Tuesday night. Blackburn are on a strong run of form in all competitions and are aiming for a giant-killing against the Premier League outfit.

Rovers are unbeaten in eight straight games in all competitions, with three consecutive matches ending as wins. Manager Jon Dahl Tomasson has Blackburn in the promotion playoff places. Rovers are fourth in the standings and three points ahead of seventh-place Norwich City.

Leicester City are coming off back-to-back Premier League defeats. A 3-0 loss to Manchester United at Old Trafford was followed by a 1-0 loss at home to Arsenal over the weekend.

Brendan Rodgers’ team continues to ebb and flow between picking up points and failing to score goals. The Foxes did not score in their last 180 minutes of football.

The manager could be without one of his most important attacking players for the FA Cup fifth-round match, as James Maddison could miss out with an illness. Defenders James Justin, Jonny Evans, and Ryan Bertrand are all unlikely to play due to their respective injuries.

Tomasson may not play his strongest squad even if he would like to. The Blackburn boss has seven players listed on the team’s injury list.

Defenders Daniel Ayala, Scott Wharton, and Clinton Mola are all unlikely to feature due to injuries. Meanwhile, midfielders Sam Barnes, Adam Wharton, and Bradley Dack could all miss the game. Goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski is ruled out with a calf injury.

Blackburn have an away record of 8W-4-10L in all competitions. They have scored 20 goals and conceded 28 times.

Rovers reached the fifth round of the FA Cup thanks to a 1-0 win over Norwich City. The team needed a replay in the fourth round against Birmingham City. The teams drew 2-2 at Ewood Park. The replay saw the teams draw nil-nil and Rovers progressed thanks to a City own goal in extra time.

Leicester City defeated Gillingham 1-0 in the third round of the FA Cup. In the fourth round, the Foxes downed Leicester City 1-0.

Rodgers’ team has more quality than Blackburn despite Maddison likely missing the match. Rodgers should put out a strong squad to play the team back into form.

Leicester City should pick up a win at full-time and see off the challenge from the Championship side. Blackburn could put a scare into the Foxes, as the game ends 2-1, with Leicester getting a narrow win.
