Two Relegation Fighters to Draw as Celta Vigo and Sevilla Meet

Celta Vigo and Sevilla return to action in La Liga on Friday evening as the two clubs look to build on easy wins in the Copa del Rey after the World Cup with both sides separated by just one place in the Spanish top flight.

Neither side has impressed at all this campaign and it seems like a battle in the bottom half and in relegation is going to take place throughout the course of the season for them.

For Celta Vigo, Carles Perez, Joseph Aidoo and Luca de la Torre all scored for them in their win over Gernika in the second round of the Copa del Rey. The club also saw seven shots on target and 67% of the ball that day.

Sevilla met with Juventud Torremolinos in their second round Copa del Rey clash and registered the exact same result and performance by having eight shots on target and 64% of the ball.

Carlos Alvarez Rivers got the ball rolling for Sevilla, before an own goal and a late finish from Joan Jordan sealed a 3-0 win.

Back in La Liga, however, the two sides are in disarray. Sevilla, despite all their glory in recent years in Europe and the domestic games, remain in the relegation zone as the form from the beginning of the season has continued and further caused concern at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium.

Now, however, Jorge Sampaoli is at the helm after the departure of Julen Lopetegui.

So far, the club have stunningly won only two games from the 14 games outings so far in La Liga, losing seven times and drawing just five times.

In fact, with 11 points on the board, much of their points tally has come from draws and by scoring just 13 times from 14 games, they are on course to register one of their worst goalscoring seasons in history.

Sevilla have also let in 22 goals, and they sit behind Celta Vigo by one point with the latter narrowly outside of the bottom three. Celta Vigo have won three games but lost one more than Sevilla and scored one extra goal with 14.

Both sides also avoided defeats in their friendlies during the World Cup, as Celta Vigo beat Brentford and drew with Boavista just as Sampaoli's men beat Benfica and Voldendam and drew with Monaco.

Forebet predicts a draw and for the game to see under 2.5 goals.
