On Saturday afternoon, the Bundesliga bottom two Arminia Bielefeld and Greuther Furth meet at the Schuco Arena, in a big game at the wrong end of the German top-flight table.
Arminia Bielefeld are 17th place in the table, but all is not lost just yet for the home side, as they are just a point adrift of Augsburg and Stuttgart above them. A couple of victories could move Frank Kramer’s team out and away from the drop zone.
That scenario is not impossible to envisage, as their recent league form has been decent, as Bielefeld are three Bundesliga matches unbeaten, having recorded two wins and a draw. Last time out they picked up a highly creditable 2-2 draw at high-flying Freiburg.
A key to the recent improvement in form has been that they have become more effective in front of goal, scoring at least two goals in all three of those recent unbeaten Bundesliga matches.
Greuther Furth have experienced a tough season in the German top-flight to say the least, as they currently sit bottom of the table, having picked up just six points from their 18 Bundesliga matches this season.
The visitors were one of the favourites to suffer relegation at the start of the season and they are living up to that tag. They already looked doomed to life back in the second-tier next season.
There have been some positives of late for Furth in that they have kept clean sheets in three of their last four matches in the Bundesliga. They have also drawn their last two matches against Augsburg and Stuttgart.
The downside of late has been their attacking play, as Stefan Leitl’s team has failed to score in three of their last four matches in the Bundesliga.
Forebet predicts that this game will produce a low-scoring draw, which would do little to aid the home team’s chances of escaping the danger zone.
