The second tier meets with the top tier quite a bit in the first FA Cup weekend of the English football season and not many Championship sides are predicted to get a result but Hull City are going to give the struggling Everton a real go.

In reality, Everton are in absolute tatters and the club could well find themselves in the bottom three and battling for survival in the Premier League in another year. However, the poor form of Norwich City, Burnley and Newcastle United is what is keeping them adrift of the relegation spots and safe for now.

It doesn’t defer too far away from the fact that this is perhaps the club’s worst ever season in the Premier League and that the Toffees have thus far proved to make a terrible call with the appointment of Rafael Benitez, which even prior to a ball being kicked, was controversial with his Liverpool link.

He is now on thin ice and may even face the sack with a loss here.

The club lost again this past week, which has brought them within just eight points off the bottom three, and with Burnley having a game in hand over them from 18th, they could find themselves in serious trouble come February unless form changes.

It's now two wins in their past 13 games in the Premier League and their 3-2 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion just about sums up where they are as a club right now.

Moreover, what is the most concerning for Toffees fans is their goal difference, as they sit with only 23 goals scored from 18 games and 32 conceded too. Although their goals scored isn't too worrying, given their attacking talent and the injuries now turning around, it only amplifies the lack of team quality and chemistry.

As for Hull City, their return to the Championship has gone as expected with them sitting only four above the drop zone and with no games in hand on those around them, unlike others. At the same time, with 13 defeats, they've lost the joint-most in the league for those outside of the relegation zone.

The former Premier League side are far from in great form themselves, but with Everton expected to make changes, this could well be one of the upsets of the weekend.

Forebet predicts Hull will win here and the game should see under 2.5 goals with most upsets not seeing more than 2.5 goals down the years.
