FC Koln will meet with Borussia Monchengladbach this weekend as the two look to find some sort of form in the 2021/22 with the two struggling to get more than three wins in a row this campaign with the away side only just cracking the top 10 recently.

For Gladbach, it’s been a tough period post-Marco Rose and they are failing to progress any further under Adi Hütter as they have now lost four games, drawn three and only won five of the 12 fixtures in the league so far.

Indeed, this isn't a cause for disaster and there is clear room for improvement after their recent 4-0 win over Furth, however, these four goals now mean they've only scored 17 goals in 12 games meaning prior to netting four, they scored just 13 times in 11 games.

What’s more, this weekend’s away side have also conceded 14, which is much greater than what they had let in this time last year and it now leaves them as the third worst defensive side inside the Bundesliga top 10.

Gladbach can still put up a fight for Europe with a win here, however, this win feels like more or less them establishing a bit of identity for themselves under Hutter as it’s now a chance for them to get a rare back-to-back win in the league.

A win could also see them surpass Union Berlin and RB Leipzig further up the table and move to level on points with fourth-placed Bayer Leverkusen, although this means they simply have to hope many other results go their way, which in itself is unlikely.

Against Furth, however, Gladbach really were excellent. Jonas Hofmann netted twice as Alassane Plea got another goal, while Florian Neuhaus also scored to continue his good form this season.

As for Koln, their start to this campaign in 2021/22 is greatly inferior to their excellent displays early on last year, but they have found a slight bit of unbeaten form in November, albeit, without racking up too many points.

They drew 2-2 with Union Berlin towards the start of the month, while also drawing with Mainz last time out. In this period, they also defeated Paderborn 4-0 in a club friendly during the international break.

Given the inconsistencies of the two and how Koln can’t seem to keep a clean sheet, Forebet predicts a draw here in a game that will see under 2.5 goals with goals hard to come by for both it seems.
