Kylian Mbappe Agrees to Join Real Madrid: What Has He Achieved at PSG?

One of the worst-kept secrets in world football was confirmed on Tuesday, as it was announced that Kylian Mbappe will leave Paris Saint-Germain to join Real Madrid this summer.

With his PSG contract expiring in June, the 25-year-old has told the club that he intends to leave – and his next destination will be the Santiago Bernabeu.

Mbappe, who is widely regarded as one of the best players on the planet, has threatened to leave PSG on numerous occasions in the past.

Now, with his exit to Real Madrid confirmed, Forebet takes a look at Mbappe’s time at the Parc des Princes and assesses what he has achieved with Les Parisiens.

After winning the Ligue 1 title with Monaco, Mbappe joined PSG as an 18-year-old in 2017, initially on loan before signing permanently for a fee of €180 million.

During his debut season in Paris, the speedy forward bagged 21 goals and 16 assists across all competitions, although he remained in the shadow of Neymar and Edinson Cavani.

In the summer of 2018, Mbappe helped France win the FIFA World Cup in Russia, scoring four goals while scooping with Best Young Player Award.

The youngster truly announced himself during the 2018-19 campaign, racking up 39 goals and 17 assists, including 33 goals in 29 Ligue 1 appearances to clinch the Golden Boot.

The following season, Mbappe won a fourth successive Ligue 1 title and a second consecutive Golden Boot as he continued to establish himself as one of the world’s best players.

After losing the 2019-20 UEFA Champions League final to Bayern Munich, PSG missed out on the 2020-21 Ligue 1 title, finishing a solitary point behind champions Lille.

Since then, however, PSG have won back-to-back domestic league titles, while Mbappe has continued to dominate the Ligue 1 scoring charts.

At the time of writing, Mbappe has bagged 244 goals and 105 assists in 291 appearances for PSG, averaging 1.2 goal involvements per game.

The France captain has also won five Ligue 1 titles, three Coupe de France trophies, two Coupe de la Ligue crowns and three Trophee des Champions titles with the club.

On top of that, Mbappe has claimed countless individual awards, making him a four-time Ligue 1 Player of the Year and a five-time Ligue 1 Golden Boot winner.

Despite achieving so much, Mbappe is still just 25. Now, with his dream move to Real Madrid secured, the Parisian legend has the chance to become a Los Blancos icon.
