Girona Looking to Reclaim 2nd Place by Beating Real Betis

Girona are looking to regain second place in La Liga this weekend when they host Real Betis and Forebet is here to group together all the latest analysis, data and mathematics to see the probability of them winning once more.

Form has dropped off significantly for Girona in the past couple of weeks, and by losing to Real Madrid back in February, they opened up a five-point gap on the league leaders.

They also lost to Athletic Club soon after in a 3-2 away defeat before getting back to winning ways with a 3-0 victory over Rayo Vallecano, as Vikto Tsyhankov scored two goals deep into stoppage time from Savio.

However, by losing to Mallorca soon after, Girona fell even further behind Real Madrid.

On the other hand, a 1-0 defeat to Getafe last time out now puts the club in third and behind Real by 10 points and adrift of Barcelona in second by two points.

In total, Girona have managed to lose five games now, draw the other five and also win 19 times.

Nevertheless, despite losing second place, the club do see themselves ahead of fifth-placed Atletico Madrid by seven points, so a spot in the Champions League is still well on the cards.

When these two met earlier in the season at the Benito Villamarin, Girona managed to drop two points late on after Artem, Dovbyk's penalty.

German Pezzella snatched a point in the end for Real Betis, as he netted in the 88th minute.

Betis themselves have hopes of getting into Europe still, but this is going to be a tough task.

The club are in seventh right now and behind Real Sociedad by four points and with only 10 wins from the 19 games, the Copa del Rey winners of last season head into this game with just 34 goals scored.

They do have a solid defensive record, however, letting in one less goal than Girona's tally of 34 but they have managed to lose three in a row since a great win at home to Athletic Club.

This losing form has seen Atletico Madrid, Villarreal and Rayo Vallecano all get a win over them.
