Sheffield United Could Edge Closer to Derby's Record-Breaking Defensive Record Against Fulham

Sheffield United and Fulham battle it out on matchday 30 in the Premier League and Forebet has grouped together all the analysis, data and football predictions after the first international break of the season ended.

As has been the case since the start of the season, the mathematics and data read very poorly for Sheffield United.

In truth, it has felt like the club have been down and out since basically the kick of the first ball in the Premier League, as a dismal transfer window saw many top names leave and barely anyone positive come in.

Now, Sheffield United are bottom of the table and with one foot back in the Championship at the first time of asking, in reality, it’s more of a case of when they will be relegated rather than anything else.

In terms of the probability of them going back down into the second tier, Sheffield United could mathematically be relegated in a matter of weeks.

The gap is currently at eight points with 30 left on the table for them, but given they have lost 20 games and won just three matches, based on the current mathematics, Sheffield United could face relegation by gameweek 33.

They do have a game in hand on the sides around them, which could bring them within five of Luton Town in 17th.

What's more, their last win actually came against Luton back in February, and they managed to draw 2-2 against Bournemouth last time out.

However, Sheffield United also let a two-goal lead slip and let in an equaliser in the 91st minute of the game.

The Blades are also staring in the face of putting on display the worst defensive record in Premier League history.

Indeed, the club have already bettered most of Derby County's 2007/08 points tally, but with 74 goals let in from just 28 games, should they let in 15 more, they will go down as the worst defensive team the competition has ever seen.

Three of those goals came in the reverse fixture against Fulham, as Bobby De Cordova-Reid scored before Willian netted another for the season.

Wes Foderginham scored an own goal that day for the Blades, as Antonee Robinson did the same for Fulham in a 3-1 win at Craven Cottage.

Fulham have been topsy-turvy ever since and sit in 12th with just 10 other wins on the board. Forebet now predicts them to win again with over 2.5 goals in the game.
