Two teams that have made difficult starts to their J-League campaigns meet on Wednesday morning, as Shonan Bellmare host Gamba Osaka at the Lemon Gas Stadium in Hiratsuka.
Shonan Bellmare have made a mixed start to their campaign in the Japanese top-flight, as they have picked up just 17 points from as many league games so far this season.
Their start leaves them just three points adrift of the relegation zone in the Japanese top-flight.
The home side has failed to win any of their last four league matches, although their last two J-League games have finished all square.
In fact, draws have been a common trend of late for Bin Ukishima’s team with eight of their last 12 J-League matches producing draws.
Their recent league matches certainly could not be described as goal-filled, as 11 of their last 12 matches in the J-League have produced under 2.5 goals.
One positive Shonan Bellmare can take from recent matches is that they are unbeaten in seven home matches, although five of those matches have finished all-square.
Gamba Osaka are in the relegation zone after a poor campaign so far in the J-League. However, the visitors are just a point from safety and have three games in hand on all the teams around them at the bottom of the J-League table.
There have also been signs that the visitor's form is improving of late, as they have now won their last two league matches against Tokushima Vortis and Yokohama.
The visitors have struggled for results on their travels in the J-League this season, having won just one of their last seven away games in the Japanese top-flight.
Their recent away matches have also been low-scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in their last eight matches away from home.
Forebet predicts that Gamba Osaka’s recent improvement will continue in this clash and that the visitors will record a third straight win to move out of the relegation zone.
