Lazio to claim the spoils against Torino

Despite losing their last three away matches on the trot, Lazio have done enough on home turf at their Stadio Olimpico to secure a top six finish in Serie A and they return to home surroundings for this Tuesday night clash against lowly Torino.

Losses on the road at Napoli, Fiorentina and Roma have been well compensated by Lazio putting together an excellent sequence of results at home which has helped fire the hosts into next season’s Europa League.

Lazio have won their last 12 home matches on the trot which includes notable wins against Napoli, Roma, Sassuolo and AC Milan, while scoring 2 goals or more in 9 of these 12 victories as well as keeping six clean sheets into the bargain too.

Tuesday evening’s hosts are therefore enjoying a purple-patch of form at their Stadio Olimpico right now and it’s difficult to see how Torino can break this excellent run of form, especially as Lazio have won the last three meetings on the trot against their visitors.

Midfielder Correa and forward Caideco have been ruled out with injuries while Malinkovic-Savic is a doubt.

Torino were saved by a late, late equaliser by Crotone in their away match against Benevento as the visitors grabbed a 1-1 draw in the dying seconds of the game which kept Torino three points above the relegation zone in Serie A.

Torino continue to battle against the drop in the Italian top flight and recent victories against Udinese, Roma and Parma have just about been enough to keep the visitors’ heads above water but their last two matches have produced some worrying cracks at the back.

Heavy losses against AC Milan 7-0 and a heavy 4-1 loss to Spezia means that Torino have conceded a total of 11 goals in their last two matches in the Italian top flight and they’ll be up against a Lazio outfit who have plundered a total of 29 goals in their last 12 games at home.

Results away from home have been mixed where Torino have been concerned but do they possess the necessary firepower to really hurt Lazio here?

Torino are expected to be without the services of defender Murru with a muscle injury while there are doubts surrounding the fitness of midfielder Gojak as well.

Lazio are in impressive form at home right now and the hosts should grab the points here.
