Unai Emery’s Villarreal sealed their place in the Europa League Final on Thursday night with a nil-nil draw against Arsenal at the Emirates. The Yellow Submarine now turn their attention back to La Liga and a Sunday fixture versus Celta Vigo.

Eduardo Coudet’s Celta Vigo are 10th in the league and comfortable in midtable. They have won back-to-back matches in the league with wins over Osasuna and Levante.

Villarreal are sixth in the league and have their focus firmly set on the Europa League Final. They claimed a 1-0 home win against Getafe last weekend to put a two-match La Liga losing streak to bed.

Now, with the Europa League Final set against Manchester United, we could see Villarreal get back to their best in La Liga.

The away team have won the last three games between the clubs. Villarreal went away to Celta Vigo and claimed a 4-0 win.

Gerard Moreno scored in the fifth minute while Moi Gomez, Dani Parejo, and Fer Nino all added goals before halftime.

Villarreal are on a two-game winning streak versus the Sky Blues. However, prior to winning last season against Celta Vigo, Villarreal had lost three straight games.

Coudet has a number of players on the Celta Vigo injury list. Key player Iago Aspas is one of the men on the injury list going into the weekend. Aspas has a hamstring injury and is unlikely to play until the end of the month.

Joseph Aidoo, Renato Tapia, Emre Mor and Jeison Murrillo are all three likely to miss the game through their respective injuries. Ruben Blanco and Sergio Alvarez are both unlikely to make the squad.

Emery has just one name on the injury list going into the match. Defender Juan Foyth is ruled out with a hamstring strain.

Emery may rotate the side for the fixture. He could rest several key players following Thursday night’s game in London.

Gerard Moreno leads Villarreal in goals with 20 this season. It is La Liga’s third-best total. He has accounted for 39% of Villarreal’s scoring in 2020-21.

Villarreal have been brilliant in defence overall this season. They have allowed just 38 goals to opponents. Like the reverse fixture, they should keep Celta Vigo out of goal, especially if Aspas is out of action.

The Yellow Submarine should post another win to nil over Celta Vigo with under 2.5 goals going in this time around.
