West Ham United will aim to keep pace in the race for a top-four finish when Everton visit the London Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The Hammers currently sit fifth in the Premier League table – three points behind fourth-place and two points ahead of sixth-place Tottenham Hotspur.
Meanwhile, eighth-place Everton have European aspirations of their own. The Toffees find themselves eighth – six points behind West Ham.
Following back-to-back defeats against Newcastle United and Chelsea, West Ham returned to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over Burnley last time out.
David Moyes’ side went behind midway through the first half against the Clarets, before a quick-fire brace from Michail Antonio secured the comeback.
The Hammers’ recent success has been built on a solid home record. In fact, they have only lost three of their last 19 matches at the London Stadium.
Although West Ham have the worst defensive record in the top half of the table, only four teams have scored more goals than Moyes’ men this season.
On the flip side, Everton head into Sunday’s clash on a run of just one win seven matches, having recorded three draws and three defeats along the way.
Things were looking up for the Toffees when they sealed three straight wins over Liverpool, Southampton and West Bromwich Albion a couple of months ago.
But since then, Carlo Ancelotti’s side have seen their dreams of securing Champions League football all but disappear.
It is worth pointing out that each of the Toffees’ previous five away matches have produced under 2.5 goals.
Head-to-head: West Ham claimed a 1-0 victory over Everton at Goodison Park in the reverse fixture back in January.
However, let’s not forget that Everton have only lost four of their last 29 meetings with West Ham in all competitions.
Team news: West Ham trio Angelo Ogbonna, Declan Rice and Arthur Masuaku are currently sidelined through injury.
As for Everton, they will be without Jean-Philippe Gbamin and Abdoulaye Doucoure on Sunday, while James Rodriguez is also a doubt.
West Ham are enjoying a far better season than Everton, but it is difficult to ignore Everton’s recent record in this fixture.
