Crystal Palace visit Bramall Lane seeking a PL double over Sheffield United
3221

Crystal Palace are on a three-match losing streak going into matchday 35 but could get back to winning ways on Saturday against already relegated Sheffield United.

The Eagles are still mathematically in the running for relegation, yet should be fine for next season and playing in the Premier League. Sheffield United are preparing for the drop and despite the pressure being off since relegation, results haven’t really improved.

Sheffield United have won just once in their last six games with five matches ending in defeat. The Blades are coming off of a 4-0 thrashing at the hands Tottenham Hotspur away.

They will seek to finish their Premier League time on a high note by getting results in their final four games.

Crystal Palace secured a 2-0 win against Sheffield United earlier this season. Jeffrey Schlupp and Eberechi Eze scored goals in the first half to send the Eagles on the way to victory. It was Crystal Palace’s first win in three attempts against the Blades in the league.

Roy Hodgson’s team took just four points from the last 18 available in the Premier League. The Eagles scored a mere five goals over the course of those six games while conceding 13 times.

Sheffield United, on the other hand, took just three points from the last 18 on offer. The Blades were abysmal in attack with just two goals scored during that timeframe.

They conceded 15 times to opponents over the course of those six matches. Four of Sheffield United’s last six matches ended in losses to nil.

Hodgson has four players ruled out for the match on Saturday. James McArthur, Connor Wickham, Nathan Ferguson, and Mamadou Sakho are all ruled out currently. Winger Wilfried Zaha is in a race to be fit for the game following a groin strain. James Tomkins could also return to action from injury.

Paul Heckingbottom should have Kean Bryan available for the game following the birth of the player’s second child. Defender Ethan Ampadu is a doubt due to a groin strain. Meanwhile, Oliver McBurnie, Jack O’Connell, and Billy Sharp are ruled out of the fixture.

Sheffield United are on the way back to the Championship. They are struggling and will continue to do so going out the door. Crystal Palace should claim a second win against Sheffield United this weekend.

Like their fixture player earlier this season, the Eagles should claim a win to nil with under 2.5 goals.
