Chelsea expected to seal comfortable victory over Fulham

Fresh from holding Real Madrid to a draw in the Champions League semi-finals, Chelsea will aim to enhance their top-four aspirations when Fulham visit Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

The Blues currently sit fourth in the Premier League table – four points behind third-place Leicester City and three points ahead of fifth-place West Ham United.

At the other end of the standings, Fulham find themselves eighteenth – seven points from safety with just five games left to play this season.

Chelsea extended their impressive record under Thomas Tuchel by securing a hard-fought 1-1 draw with Real Madrid on Tuesday.

The Blues racked up 11 shots (five on target) against Los Blancos, with Christian Pulisic scoring an important away goal.

In the Premier League, Chelsea have only lost two of their 14 matches under Tuchel and head into Saturday’s clash on a three-game unbeaten streak.

Having sealed a vital 1-0 victory over top-four rivals West Ham last weekend, Chelsea will be confident of securing Champions League football for next season.

Let’s not forget that Chelsea have been extremely strong at home recently, losing just three of their previous 25 matches at Stamford Bridge in all competitions.

Interestingly, Fulham have only lost one of their previous 11 away games in all competitions, although their home form has let them down.

Scott Parker’s men enjoyed an impressive run of just one defeat in eight games across January and February.

But having lost five of their last seven outings, there is no hiding from the fact that Fulham are on the verge of relegation.

The Cottagers pushed Arsenal all the way last weekend. However, they ended up conceding a goal in the 97th minute and drew the game 1-1.

Head-to-head: Chelsea edge out Fulham 1-0 in the reverse fixture back in January, with Mason Mount netting the only goal of the game.

The Blues have claimed three straight victories over Fulham, with the Cottagers winning just two of the previous eight meetings between the teams.

Team news: Having missed the midweek match against Real Madrid, Mateo Kovacic is still a doubt for Chelsea.

As for Fulham, they will be without injured trio Marek Rodak, Tom Cairney and Terence Kongolo this weekend.

We all know that Fulham are frightening for their lives at the moment, but in-form Chelsea are expected to cruise to victory over the relegation strugglers.

Forebet predicts that Chelsea will score over 2.5 goals and keep a clean sheet en route to dispatching Fulham on Saturday.
