Can West Ham get back on track against Burnley?

West Ham United will aim to keep their Champions League dreams alive when they face off against Burnley at Turf Moor on Monday.

Heading into Matchday 34, the Hammers find themselves fifth in the Premier League table – three points shy of fourth-place Chelsea.

On the other hand, Burnley are fourteenth – nine points clear of the relegation zone and 19 points behind West Ham.

Burnley ended a three-match losing streak with an emphatic 4-0 victory over Wolves at Molineux last weekend.

Chris Wood netted a first-half hat-trick – his first treble in the Premier League – before Ashely Westwood completed the rout.

Following losses to Southampton, Newcastle and Manchester United, Sean Dyche’s men bounced back in style to all but secure top-flight football for another season.

It is worth noting that only two sides – Sheffield United and Fulham – have scored fewer goals than Burnley this term.

Despite sitting nine places behind West Ham, Burnley have only conceded two more goals than David Moyes’ men.

However, the Hammers have netted 53 goals in 33 matches – 23 more than Burnley and two more than fourth-place Chelsea.

Speaking of Chelsea, West Ham’s top-four hopes were dealt a big blow last weekend as they lost 1-0 to the Blues.

Following a run of just two defeats in ten games, the Hammers now head into Monday’s clash on the back of two straight losses.

Still, Moyes’ side can be extremely proud of their efforts this term. They avoided relegation on the final day of last season, but they are now battling for a European spot.

Head-to-head: West Ham earned a slender 1-0 victory over Burnley in the reverse fixture at the London Stadium back in January.

However, Burnley had secured three straight wins over the Hammers leading up to this season, keeping a clean sheet on all three occasions.

Team news: Burnley will be without injured duo Robbie Brady and Kevin Long this weekend, with both men likely to miss the rest of the season.

As for West Ham, they currently have Declan Rice and Michail Antonio on the sidelines, while Fabian Balbuena is suspended following his red card against Chelsea last weekend.

Burnley picked up an emphatic win over Wolves last time out, but there is no denying that West Ham are favorites to claim all three points on Monday.

Forebet predicts that both teams will score. However, West Ham are expected to edge out Sean Dyche’s side.
