Real Madrid set for straightforward victory over Betis

Real Madrid will be looking to keep the pressure on title-chasing Atletico Madrid when they host Real Betis on Saturday.

Los Blancos currently sit 21 points ahead of Betis in the La Liga table, meaning the hosts are expected to claim all three points this weekend.

Real Madrid extended their unbeaten streak in La Liga to 12 games with a 3-0 victory over Cadiz in midweek.

Karim Benzema netted a first-half brace, while Alvaro Odriozola completed the scoring. Zinedine Zidane’s men also enjoyed 62%.

Not only have Real Madrid avoided defeat in each of their previous 12 La Liga matches, but they have also lost just one of their last 22 league outings.

Cross-city rivals Atletico have led the title race for much of the campaign, but Los Blancos are keeping the pressure on Diego Simeone’s side.

Real Madrid also have a Champions League semi-final to look forward to, having seen off Liverpool 3-1 in the previous round.

On the flip side, Real Betis are enjoying a positive run of their own, having lost just one of their last ten league games.

However, it is worth pointing out that Betis have drawn each of their previous four La Liga games, with their last win coming against Levante over a month ago.

Nabil Fekir was sent off after just 11 minutes against Athletic Bilbao in midweek, yet Betis managed to hold on and claim a goalless draw.

Despite finishing the match with just 40% possession, Bets defended for their lives, facing 16 shots on their goal.

On a brighter note, Betis have scored in four of their last five league games and have also kept a couple of clean sheets in that time.

Team news: Betis hosted Real Marid in the third round of the season, with Los Blancos coming from behind to claim a 3-2 victory on that occasion.

However, it is worth noting that Real Madrid have only won one of their last four meetings with Betis, recording one draw and two defeats along the way.

Team news: Lucas Vazquez, Eden Hazard, Sergio Ramos, Ferland Mendy, Luka Modric and Federico Valverde are all currently unavailable for Real Madrid.

Betis have no fresh injury concerns, although Nabil Fekir is suspended following his red card against Bilbao.

Betis have rediscovered some form of late, but Real Madrid have more than enough firepower to overcome the visitors.

Forebet predicts that Real Madrid will score over 2.5 goals en route to beating Betis on Saturday.
