Norwich to move within touching distance of Premier League return
4665

It seems that Norwich’s time in the Championship may well be short-lived, as the Canaries can move one step closer to a Premier League return when they host Huddersfield at Carrow Road on Tuesday night.

The Canaries have enjoyed a strong campaign and are 15 points clear of third-place Brentford in the race to secure automatic promotion back to the Premier League after just one season in the second flight.

It would now take an incredible collapse for the Canaries not to seal a place back in the Premier League now.

Norwich are unbeaten in 11 Championship matches, recording nine wins in the process. However, they have drawn their last two matches in the English second tier against Blackburn and Preston.

Daniel Farke’s team have built their potentially successful campaign on good home form, as they are 16 games unbeaten at Carrow Road in the Championship. In fact, they have lost just once on home soil all season in the second tier.

One man that has played a crucial part in Norwich’s probable promotion campaign is Finnish striker Teemu Pukki, who has scored 22 times in the Championship. The 31-year-old was also the teams leading scorer in their last promotion to the top-flight in 2019.

Huddersfield are currently eight points clear of the relegation zone. That gap would usually be a comfortable one, but 22nd place Rotherham have three games in hand on the Terriers.

Carlos Corberan’s team will feel that they have done enough to secure their status in the second tier.

The visitors are five games unbeaten in the Championship but have won just one of their last seven league games, as four of those recent five undefeated matches have finished in draws.

Town have been poor on their travels of late, as they won just once in 14 away games in the Championship.

Forebet predicts that Norwich will record a victory in a low-scoring encounter to move closer to a Premier League return next season.
