Barcelona are expected to make short work of Real Valladolid in this Easter Monday’s clash at their Nou Camp especially as the hosts have racked up a total of 10 goals in their last two matches in La Liga.

A resounding 4-1 victory over Huesca at home was swiftly followed by a 6-1 thrashing of 5th placed Real Sociedad away from home just before the international break with the latter result sending out a message to the rest of the division as Real Sociedad had been no ‘easy-beats’ prior to that fateful encounter.

Barcelona are certainly gathering ominous momentum at just about the right time and the hosts seem poised to strike with another three points on Monday night.

They look to close the gap on the current league leaders, Atletico Madrid, who hold a four-point lead over Ronald Koeman’s side.

The hosts have lost just once at home all season and the goals have also flowed throughout the campaign but there have only been three out of 14 matches where 5 goals or more have been scored.

Real Valladolid bring a four-match unbeaten run into this clash having picked up points in draws with Celta Vigo, Osasuna and Sevilla along with recording a 2-1 home win over Getafe with these results being enough to keep Valladolid above the bottom three.

However, the visitors face the daunting task of keeping an in-form Barcelona outfit quiet at the Nou Camp on Monday night.

But perhaps one thing in their favour is that there has been the international break in between Barcelona’s 10 goals and this upcoming encounter and this may have dampened Barcelona’s goalscoring exploits.

After a shaky start to the season particularly away from home which produced just the one win from their opening eight matches on their travels, Real Valladolid have seemingly warmed to their task of La Liga survival as the visitors have lost just one of their last eight matches on their travels.

Despite their lowly league position of 16th place in the Spanish top flight, Real Valladolid have been far from easy-beats on the road with no opposition inflicting a heavy defeat upon them to date although realistically, their prospects aren’t looking too good against this superior Barcelona outfit.
