PSG bounced back from their previous surprising 2-1 defeat at home to Nantes in Ligue 1 just before the international break when the Paris outfit recorded a 4-2 win away from home over 3rd placed Lyon and they’ll be looking for more of the same this Saturday when they play host to 2nd placed Lille at the Parc des Princes.
Having won nine of their last 12 matches overall in the French top flight, PSG now sit top of Ligue 1 on goal difference above their visitors ahead of this tasty clash while at home, PSG have won 10 of their 15 matches played to date.
Following an excellent six-match winning streak which included a notable win against Marseille, PSG have since suffered back-to-back defeats at home to Monaco and Nantes but their win at Lyon will have been a major boost.
PSG hold a decent record at home over Lille too as the hosts have son the last seven meetings on the trot in the nation’s capital.
Defenders Bernat and Kehrer, midfielder Sarabia and forward Icardi look set to miss out through injuries while Italian midfielder Verratti is rated as doubtful with a muscle injury.
Lille’s position at the top of Ligue 1 was finally overtaken by the irresistable force that is PSG thanks to Lille slipping up in a 2-1 defeat at home to Nimes just before the break and they now face a tough trip to Paris to face opposition who have held the upper hand over them at the Parc des Princes for some time.
Lille had previously put together a decent 11-match unbeaten run in Ligue 1 which had resulted in the visitors sitting top of the domestic top flight but the relentless form of PSG is starting to tell and this upcoming clash looks to be make-or-break for Lille here.
The visitors have lost just the once away from home though throughout this campaign where they’ve won nine of their 14 away matches to date along with four draws but they do possess a wretched record at the Parc des Princes and they could have their work cut out again this Saturday.
Defender Pied looks to be the only absentee for Lille but this looks a tough assignment for the visitors against a PSG outfit who now look to be homing in on another domestic top flight title.
