PSG set for straightforward win over poor Nantes

After recording back-to-back wins away from home in the French top flight with victories collected at Dijon and Bordeaux along with seeing off Spanish giants, Barcelona, in the Champions League, a triumphant PSG side will return to their Parc des Princes for this upcoming clash against Nantes on Sunday evening.

PSG have won eight out of their last 10 matches in all competitions which includes a resounding 4-1 win away from home at Barcelona in the first leg of their recent Champions League tie, while also winning five of their last six matches in Ligue 1 on the domestic scene.

Although they slipped to a 2-0 defeat at home to Monaco, Paris St. Germain have made up for it by recording wins against Nimes, Marseille, Nice, Dijon and Bordeaux while also winning six of their last seven matches at home too.

Even more impressive is that five of PSG’s recent six wins at home were also to nil and the hosts have kept eight clean sheets in their 14 home matches to date.

Defenders, Bernat and Florenzi are both sidelined with injuries along with forwards Kean (illness) and Neymar (groin injury) so Mbappe (18 goals) and Icardi (5 goals) will continue the charge up front.

Having endured an extremely disappointing run of results in Ligue 1 since the end of November to date which has seen Nantes pick up just the one win out of their last 19 matches overall, the visitors now sit in the relegation zone ahead of this tough looking trip to the nation’s capital this Sunday.

Eight defeats within this period have outweighed the 10 draws and the solitary win which came in the form of a 3-1 win away from home at Angers, and this barren spell of results doesn’t bode well against a PSG side who are pushing claims for another domestic top flight league title.

Nantes have achieved just two away wins all season and have also lost seven out of their 14 away matches to date this term, and with just two clean sheets under their belts so far on their travels, this could spell further trouble for the visitors.

Defenders, Fabio and Appiah are expected to miss out through injuries while forward Coulibaly is also expected to be absent with a thigh injury.

Although PSG have a couple of influential forwards missing, the hosts should still register a straight forward win where they beat the asian handicap line of -1.5.
