Desperate Newcastle United host Aston Villa in Premier League clash
Newcastle United vs Aston Villa - 12/03/2021

Newcastle United are desperate for a victory to inch them away from the relegation zone. Just one point has Newcastle United above 18th-placed Fulham, who are the most in-form team in the lower half of the Premier League table.
Steve Bruce could move his club away from Fulham’s reach, for the time being this weekend, with a victory against Aston Villa on Friday night. Fulham face Manchester City on Saturday evening and are unlikely to win that fixture.
Aston Villa will aim to end any Newcastle United hopes of winning at St. James’ Park. The Villains are ninth in the division, but are not in form. They are winless in back-to-back games, and with midfielder Jack Grealish injured, the team have won just once in their last four league games.
Dean Smith’s team won the revere fixture between the sides in January. Ollie Watkins and Bertrand Traore found the back of the net in the first half to send Aston Villa to a 2-0 victory.
Bruce is getting players fit and over their injury issues. However, the manager is set to be without three of his most important attacking players; Callum Wilson, Allan Saint-Maximin, and Miguel Almiron. All three are ruled out due to their injuries. Fabian Schar is also ruled out due to injury.
Smith has seven names on the Aston Villa injury list heading into matchday 29. Full-back Matty Cash and striker Wesley are both ruled out of the match. Smith could get five players back from their respective injuries but the team’s medical department will have the last say on their participation.
Grealish is the most significant player Smith could get back. He is still list as a doubt due to a calf injury but is being assessed by the medical staff. Anwar El-Ghazi and Traore could both return to the team.
Midfielder Morgan Sansone could also return to the side for the game. Kortney Hause is a doubt due to a lingering ankle issue.
Since being promoted to the Premier League in 2019, Aston Villa are unbeaten against Newcastle United. The Villains won both games at Villa Park while drawing 1-1 on their trip to Newcastle United last term.
Friday night’s Premier League game should be a low-scoring affair with both sides struggling to breakdown the other – especially if Grealish misses out.
Aston Villa should continue their unbeaten run versus Newcastle United with a single goal separating the sides. The game should finish with under 2.5 goals scored and Aston Villa claiming a win to nil once more versus Newcastle United.
