Juventus cruised to a 3-0 win at home against Spezia in midweek and now sit 3pts behind second placed AC Milan in the Serie A table.
Lazio were due to face Torino the very same night Juve played Spezia, but that game had to be called off following a number of positive COVID-19 tests within the Torino camp.
These two sides played out a 1-1 draw when they locked horns in November for their reverse league fixture, but Juve have had the better of the duo’s recent encounters.
Juventus have claimed four wins, one draw and two defeats from their last seven encounters with Lazio and both teams have scored in each of the pair’s last five head-to-heads.
Neither of these teams can claim to be in the best of form right now but with three wins and three defeats from their last six outings, Lazio are the form favourites.
Juventus have won two, draw two and lost two of their last six matches in all competitions but do head into this game on the back of a win, unlike the visitors.
Over 2.5 goals have been scored in three of Juve’s last four outings and in three of Lazio’s last six fixtures, so there is a good chance we will see goals on Saturday.
Lazio sit 6pts and four positions behind Juventus in the Serie A table and will be hoping to use their extended period of rest to produce a winning performance that can reduce the gap between the two clubs.
The hosts look set to be without Dybala, Chiellini, Bonucci, Cuadrado and Arthur this weekend due to injury, while the Lazio trio of Lazzari, Radu and Felipe are expected to miss the trip to Turin.
Juventus are the favourites to win the game with all of the major bookmakers, but Lazio won’t prove easy to beat.
The visitors have form in their favour and have had extra time for their players to recuperate following the cancellation of their midweek game against Torino.
