Can Bayer Leverkusen overturn EL last 32 scoreline against Young Boys?

Bayer Leverkusen and Young Boys played a thriller in Bern in their Europa League last 32 first leg. The game looked to be over at halftime with Young Boys up 3-0.
From there, Peter Bosz’s team battled back with three goals in the following 25 minutes as Patrik Schick and Moussa Diaby pulled the game to 3-3. Young Boys had the final laugh, however. Theoson Jordan Siebatcheu scored in the 89th minute to give the Swiss side the win.
Young Boys go into the first leg with a slender aggregate lead, which could be overturned at the Bay Arena. Bayer Leverkusen may have lost the first leg, but did score three away goals. A single goal against Young Boys on Thursday would put the team in the driver’s seat.
Bosz’s problem is his team’s form. Bayer Leverkusen have been atrocious since December 19 when they fell 2-1 to Bayern Munich thanks to a late defensive mistake.
Bayer Leverkusen have won just three of their last 13 games in all competitions and are on a three-game winless streak currently.
Young Boys, on the other hand, are on a 12-game unbeaten run with 10 of those matches ending in wins. The Swiss side will fancy their chances away in Germany on Thursday night.
The first leg showcased two very different teams. Young Boys ran away with the fixture in the opening 45 minutes only to give up three goals to Bayer Leverkusen in the second half. Bayer Leverkusen should be far better this time out especially after a hard-fought 1-1 draw versus Augsburg at the weekend.
Bosz does have injury problems going into the second leg. Lars Bender and Nadiem Amiri are both ruled out until March. Goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky is ruled out until April with an Achilles injury. His absence is a massive blow to the team’s defence.
Paulinho is also ruled out until March. However, Bosz could get both Karim Bellarabi and Santiago Arias back and available for the midweek game.
Young Boys coach Gerardo Seoane could be without Martin Pereira and Vincent Sierro. Both are doubts due to muscle injuries. Esteban Petigant is back in training following an ACL injury but may lack match fitness to play.
Bayer Leverkusen had a terrible first half against Young Boys a week ago followed by a brilliant second period. This time out, expect Bosz’s side to be better for a full 90 minutes and to overturn the deficit.
The Company XI should pick up a win with both sides scoring, over 2.5 goals scored, and qualify for the last 16. Bayer Leverkusen won’t be as bad as they were a week ago.
