Brighton and Crystal Palace set for customary low-scoring draw

Just three points separate Brighton and Crystal Palace in the Premier League table as the two sides prepare to face off at the Amex on Monday night.

Brighton currently find themselves sixteenth on 26 points – seven points clear of the relegation zone and one point behind fifteenth-place Burnley.

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace are fourteenth on 29 points – three points ahead of Brighton and five points outside the top half.

Following a wretched start to the season, Brighton have turned things around in recent weeks, easing relegation fears.

The Seagulls head into Monday’s clash on a six-game unbeaten streak in the Premier League, recording three wins and three draws in that time.

Graham Potter’s men have picked up impressive wins over Leeds, Tottenham and Liverpool since the turn of the year, with a goalless draw against Aston Villa coming last time out.

Brighton have only managed to win four of their last 26 home games in the Premier League, although they have kept three straight clean sheets at the Amex.

On the flip side, Crystal Palace have won just one of their previous seven away matches in the all competitions.

That run has seen the Eagles only manage to win three of their last 13 Premier League outings, suffering six defeats along the way.

Palace appeared to have turned a corner following back-to-back victories over Wolves and Newcastle recently.

However, Roy Hodgson’s men are currently on a two-match losing streak, having suffered a 2-0 defeat to Leeds and a 0-3 loss to Burnley.

It is also worth pointing out that only second-bottom West Brom have conceded more Premier League goals than Palace this term.

Head-to-head: Crystal Palace held Brighton to a 1-1 draw at Selhurst Park in the reverse fixture back in October.

Each of their previous three meetings between the teams have produced under 2.5 goals, with two 1-1 draws coming during that period.

Team news: Solly March, Florin Andone and Tariq Lamptey are all currently sidelined for Brighton, while Adam Webster and Alireza Jahanbakhsh are both doubts.

Crystal Palace have a lengthy injury list at the moment, with James Mc Arthur, Connor Wickham, Wilfried Zaha and Jeff Schlupp among the notable absentees.

If the recent meetings between these two sides are anything to go by, we are destined for a low-scoring draw on Monday night.

Continuing the trend, Forebet predicts that Brighton and Crystal Palace will produce another 1-1 draw at the Amex.
