Suddenly, there may be a title race in the Bundesliga after Bayern Munich dropped points last time out. The Bavarians will still be confident of sealing yet another German title.
However, second-place RB Leipzig will be hoping to capitalise on any more unlikely slip-ups from Hansi Flick’s team, as they visit Hertha Berlin on Sunday afternoon.
Julian Nagelsmann’s team don’t seem to be giving up on the title, although Die Roten Bullen still trail the reigning champions by five points. RB Leipzig’s recent league record is a good one, as they have won four of their last five matches in the Bundesliga.
However, they did suffer the blow of a midweek 2-0 home defeat by Liverpool in the last-16 of the Champions League.
Back in the German top-flight and the visitors have been poor on their travels of late, winning just three of their previous eight league matches on their travels.
Leipzig have still been prolific away from home of late, though, scoring at least two goals in their last three Bundesliga away days.
What started as a season with such promise has turned into something of a disaster for Hertha Berlin. The team from the German capital are in 15th place in the Bundesliga, only outside the relegation play-off spot courtesy of superior goal difference to 16th place Arminia Bielefeld.
Hertha are on a run of seven games without a win in the Bundesliga, having suffered five defeats in the process. Last time out, Pal Dardai’s team ended a four-game losing run in the Bundesliga by drawing 1-1 with Stuttgart.
The Olympiastadion has not been a happy hunting ground for the home team, with just two wins recorded in ten Bundesliga matches. Hertha have also lost their last three home games in the German top-flight.
Forebet predicts that Leipzig will keep their title hopes alive by recording a victory in an entertaining encounter to add to Hertha’s recent woes.
