Victory on the Cards for the Newly Crowned World Club Champions

Bayern München vs Arminia Bielefeld - 15/02/2021

Victory on the Cards for the Newly Crowned World Club Champions

Bayern Munich won’t have long to prepare for Monday’s match with Bielefeld having not long travelled back from the Club World Cup in Qatar.

The German giants beat Mexican side UANL in the final 1-0 thanks to a Pavard effort in the 59th-minute.

Relegation battlers, Bielefeld lost 3-1 at Cologne last time out and will be desperate to get some more points on the board this weekend as they currently sit 16th in the Bundesliga table.

Bayern Munich have won each of their last six encounters with Bielefeld, which includes a 4-1 win when the two sides locked horns for their reverse league fixture back in October.

Both teams have scored in two of the duo’s last three meetings and Bielefeld will be looking to exploit any tired legs their hosts may have on Monday night.

The home side are the clear form favourites ahead of kick-off with six wins from their last six matches in all competitions. The visitors have lost three, drawn one and won two of their last six matches and they would certainly be happy with a point away at the league leaders.

Bielefeld have found the back of the net in each of their last three matches and could cause Bayern’s tired defence some problems. Bayern themselves haven’t been as prolific in front of goal as they usually are of late, scoring a total of four goals in their last three matches.

The hosts look set to be without Thomas Muller, Alexander Nubel, Javier Martinez, Leon Goretzka, Tanguy Kouassi and Malik Tillman due to injury or isolation. The visitors are believed to have a clean bill of health and no suspended players for the trip to Munich.

Despite having travelled so much this week and there busy schedule, Bayern Munich are still the favourites to win on Monday night.

However, this game might end up finishing closer than many people would have imagined. Bielefeld are likely to get their chances to score, so don’t be surprised if both teams find the back of the net in this game.

Bayern, even with injuries and tired legs, should have enough in them to claim a narrow 2-1 win.
