Burnley will be looking to end their three-match winless streak when they visit Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday.
A run of two wins in three games has seen Crystal Palace move to thirteenth in the table – six points ahead of seventeenth-place Burnley.
Following heavy defeats to Manchester City and West Ham last month, things appeared to be getting brighter for the Eagles at the start of February.
Roy Hodgson’s men claimed back-to-back victories over Wolves and Newcastle, but they returned to losing ways last time out, going down 2-0 to Leeds.
Despite making a decent start to the campaign, it is no secret that conceding goals has been Crystal Palace’s biggest problem this season.
In fact, only one team – West Brom – has a poorer defensive record than the Eagles this term, with Hodgson’s side letting in 39 goals in 23 games.
If Palace don’t sort out their defensive issues soon, they could find themselves dropping closer to the relegation zone.
On the flip side, Burnley actually boast the second-best defensive record in the bottom half, having conceded 29 goals in 22 matches.
However, with just 14 goals scored this season, Sean Dyche’s men are the lowest scorers in the Premier League.
The Clarets have claimed a number of notable wins this term, including a famous victory at Anfield last month.
But given that they have only managed to win two of their last 11 Premier League outings, they could find life difficult on Saturday.
Still, there remains a healthy eight-point gap between Burnley and the bottom three, meaning relegation isn’t an immediate danger right now.
Head-to-head: Burnley claimed a narrow 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace at Turf Moor in the reverse fixture back in November.
However, it is worth pointing out that Palace have won four of their previous six meetings with Burnley, keeping a clean sheet on three occasions.
Team news: Crystal Palace’s injury list is lengthy at the moment, with up to ten players – including star man Wilfried Zaha – doubts for Saturday’s match.
Burnley will be hoping to welcome Chris Wood back from injury following a spell on the sidelines for the New Zealand striker.
Given the scoring records of these two sides, this game is likely to be a low-scoring encounter with limited clear-cut chances.
