AC Milan will be looking to extend their lead at the top of the Serie A table when relegation-strugglers Crotone visit the San Siro on Sunday afternoon.

Milan currently hold a two-point advantage over second-place Inter Milan at the summit of the Serie A standings.

At the other end of the table, Crotone find themselves one point adrift at the bottom and three points from safety.

AC Milan have only lost two of their 20 league games this term, recording 14 wins and four draws along the way.

Following defeats to Juventus and Atalanta last month, Milan returned to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over Bologna last weekend.

Looking at the bigger picture, Milan have only lost two of their previous 32 Serie A outings – a run stretching back to last season.

Despite spending much of the campaign on the sidelines through injury, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has netted 14 goals in 16 appearances in all competitions, including 12 goals in just ten Serie A games.

Even at the ripe ole age of 39, the evergreen striker isn’t showing any signs of slowing down anytime soon.

Meanwhile, Crotone have only managed to win three of their 20 Serie A outings this term, recording three draws and 14 defeats in the process.

Not only are Crotone among the lowest scorers in the division, but they also have the worst defensive record, having conceded a whopping 46 goals.

Crotone have particularly struggled on their travels this season, losing each of their previous four away games.

Interestingly, each of Crotone’s last eight league games have produced over 2.5 goals, while they have failed to keep a clean sheet in that time.

Head-to-head: AC Milan are unbeaten in their last six games against Crotone, picking up five wins and one draw since 2015.

Milan claimed a 2-0 victory over Crotone in the reverse fixture back in September, thanks to goals from Franck Kessie and Brahim Diaz.

Team news: AC Milan have three players out injured at the moment – Matteo Gabbia, Simon Kjaer and Brahim Diaz.

On the other hand, Crotone will be without Luca Cigarini, Salvatore Molina, Giuseppe Cuomo and Adam Ounas this weekend.

Given that Milan are flying high at the top of the table and Crotone are struggling at the bottom, this should be a routine win for the home side.

Forebet predicts that AC Milan will score over 2.5 goals on their way to beating Crotone on Sunday.
