Hoffenheim unlikely to end Eintracht Frankfurt’s hot streak
2017

Eintracht Frankfurt will be looking to extend their unbeaten streak in the Bundesliga to nine games when they visit Hoffenheim on Sunday.

Frankfurt’s impressive run has seen them move up to fourth in the table – one point ahead of Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Dortmund and Borussia Monchengladbach.

On the other hand, Hoffenheim are down in twelfth place – 11 points behind Eintracht Frankfurt and just five points clear of the bottom three.

Hoffenheim have only managed to win six of their 19 league games this term, picking up four draws and suffering nine defeats along the way.

After a poor run of four defeats in five games between late December and early January, Hoffenheim enjoyed a three-game unbeaten run last month.

However, they were thrashed 4-1 by Bayern Munich last weekend, despite racking up more attempts than they defending champions.

It is also worth pointing out that each of Hoffenheim’s previous three Bundesliga games have produced over 2.5 goals.

On the flip side, Frankfurt are currently enjoying an eye-catching eight-game unbeaten run in the German top-flight.

In fact, looking at the bigger picture – Eintracht Frankfurt have only lost two of their last 23 league outings.

With six wins coming in their previous seven Bundesliga matches, Frankfurt are now just five points shy of second-place RB Leipzig.

Remarkably, have scored over 2.5 goals in each of their last eight league matches and have netted at least one goal in each of their previous 15.

Head-to-head: Eintracht Frankfurt have beaten Hoffenheim in each of their last five Bundesliga meetings.

With two draws coming in this fixture prior to that, Frankfurt are unbeaten in their previous seven matches against Hoffenheim.

Team news: Hoffenheim have a lengthy injury list at the moment, with Benjamin Hubner, Konstantinos Stafylidis, Ermin Bicakcic, Dennis Geiger, Kevin Akpoguma and Robert Skov all sidelined.

As for Frankfurt, centre-back Felix Irorere and right-back Erik Durm are both expected to miss Sunday’s match through injury.

When you couple Frankfurt’s recent form with their superior record against Hoffenheim, all the signs point towards an away victory this weekend.

Given Eintracht’s recent goalscoring record, the away side are also expected to score over 2.5 goals on Sunday.

Forebet predicts that Frankfurt will beat Hoffenheim and keep pace with the European chasers, although both teams are likely to score.
