Sunday lunchtime’s offering in the Spanish top flight features the clash between Barcelona and Osasuna at the Nou Camp with Barcelona presumably desperate to improve upon their current league standing of 13th on the La Liga table.

The hosts suffered defeat last time out in La Liga, losing 1-0 away from home at Atletico Madrid but in fairness, that’s been Barcelona’s only slip up in their last six matches in all competitions which also includes notable wins against Juventus 2-0 away along with back-to-back wins in the Champions League over Dynamo Kyiv, winning 2-1 at home before trouncing the Ukrainian outfit 4-0 away from home in midweek.

On the domestic front though, there’s still a lot of work ahead for Ronald Koeman’s side as they’ve managed to pick up just one win out of their last six matches overall in La Liga which came in the shape of a 5-2 thrashing of Real Betis on home turf.

Goals have been present on a regular basis though as five of Barcelona’s last seven matches at home have resulted in over 2.5 goals while seven of their last eight meetings against Osasuna have seen Barcelona get the better of their visitors.

Onto Osasuna and the visitors sit just one league position lower than their more illustrious opponents but level on 11 points apiece prior to this Sunday lunchtime encounter, with Osasuna looking to break a three-match sequence without a win in the Spanish top flight.

It’s been a stop-start sort of campaign to date for Osasuna who have registered wins against the teams around them in the division with victories over Cadiz, Celta Vigo and Athletic Bilboa, but inconsistency has also crept in and denied the visitors any kind of a run of results.

Osasuna have more or less managed to hold their own on home turf at their Estadio El Sadar, winning two, drawing one and losing two, but it’s their results away from home which will be a concern for manager, Arrasate.

The visitors have picked up just the on e win so far on their travels this season which came in a 2-0 win at Cadiz but they’ve since slumped to defeats at Getafe and Sevilla along with being held to a 0-0 stalemate at Eibar, but it would be remiss to omit their last visit to the Nou Camp which ended in a 2-1 triumph for Osasuna.

Barcelona have held the upper hand in previous exchanges though and look likely to set the record straight this Sunday.
