Real Betis suffered a second heavy defeat in the space of a week at the weekend. Monday’s hosts went down 5-2 away at Barcelona and followed that up with a 4-0 defeat at Athletic Club.
Betis have now lost four of their last six outings in La Liga but will be hopeful of stopping the rot at home to an Eibar side that sit four places and 2pts behind them in the table.
There have been plenty of goals in Betis’s recent matches with over 2.5 being scored in four of their last five league games. Both teams have scored in two of Betis’s last three outings and the hosts haven’t kept a clean sheet in their last five attempts. Real Betis have been hit and miss in their own backyard this season, picking up two wins and suffering two defeats.
Real Betis don’t have the best of records against Eibar, winning 3, drawing 5, and losing 4 of the pair’s previous 12 encounters. In recent meetings Eibar have had the edge over Betis and are unbeaten against Monday’s hosts in their last four head to heads.
The last five encounters between the two clubs, all in La Liga, have each produced under 2.5 goals. The last high-scoring 90-minutes between the duo was back in 2017 when Eibar thrashed Betis 5-0.
Eibar have only lost one of their last six matches and head into Monday’s clash on the back of a goalless draw with Getafe. Each of their last five outings have produced under 2.5 goals and Eibar have kept clean sheets in three of their last five league games.
There have been a number of draws for Eibar of late, three in their last five fixtures, making it hard to predict an outright win for the visitors.
However, Eibar are unbeaten in their last three away games, securing two wins and a draw, so will fancy their chances of leaving Sevilla with at least a point to show for their efforts.
