Mozambique and Cameroon go head to head for the second time in four days in Group F of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The Indomitable Lions thrashed Mozambique 4-1 in the pair’s reverse qualifying fixture on Thursday, thanks to a brace from Aboubakar and goals from Andre-Frank and N’Jie. Cumbane scored Mozambique’s consolation goal 16-minutes from time.

As things stand, Cameroon top Group F with 7pts from their opening three matches, Mozambique sit second on 4pts, Cape Verde have 3pts and remain unbeaten, while Rwanda are bottom with 1pt to their name.

Cameroon were always expected to top Group F but the fact they remain unbeaten is a testament to how seriously they have taken their opponents.

It wasn’t a surprise to see so many goals in a game that Mozambique were involved in. Three of Mozambique’s last seven international matches have produced over 3.5 goals.

Monday’s hosts had been on a good run of form before their clash with Cameroon, winning five of their last six matches in all competitions, but none were against teams even close to the quality of Cameroon.

Mozambique have scored in all of their last 11 home games and did manage to register a goal away at Cameroon, and Forebet could see both teams score in Monday’s clash.

Only one of Cameroon’s last six matches, before the game against Mozambique, had seen over 2.5 goals scored.

Four of Cameroon’s last seven international matches have ended in goalless draws, but their 4-1 demolition of Mozambique in midweek gives us hope that there will be goals in Monday’s qualifier.

Cameroon have managed to keep five clean sheets in their last seven attempts and have scored 8-goals in their last six outings. With that in mind, it wouldn’t be too much of a surprise to see Cameroon score at least twice in Mozambique.

Forebet is expecting a closer game than the one we saw in Cameroon on Thursday. Both teams are in with a great chance of scoring.

The visitors are unbeaten in their last five games and ended Mozambique’s undefeated run on Thursday. Vincent Aboubakar hasn’t made the brightest of starts in the Super Lig with Besiktas, but the Cameroon striker moved on to 22 international goals in the reverse fixture against Mozambique and will be hungry for more on Monday.
