Ghana kicked-off last year’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers with back to back wins and look odds on to claim the top spot in Group C.

The Black Stars secured a 2-0 win at home to South Africa and followed that up with a 1-0 win away at Sao Tome in their opening two Group C qualifiers.

Last month, Ghana played friendlies against Mali and Qatar, losing the opening game 3-0 but winning the latter 5-1.

Thursday’s hosts are unbeaten in their last seven matches against Sudan, picking up six wins and one draw since 2001. The two nations last locked horns for a World Cup qualifier back in 2013, which Ghana won 3-1.

The Black Stars are aiming for a fourth straight win against Sudan this week, and it is hard to see their opponents stopping that from happening.

Ghana have won three of their last four matches in all competitions, and their last two outings have produced over 2.5 goals. However, four of the Black Star’s last six international matches have produced under 2.5 goals, and Ghana have kept clean sheets in three of those games.

Sudan got their qualifying process off to the perfect start, securing a 4-0 home win over the Group C whipping boys, Sao Tome. However, a 1-0 defeat away at South Africa was to follow, and now Sudan sit third in the table. Last time out, Sudan played out a 1-1 draw with Togo in an October friendly and lost their other friendly that month 3-0 against Tunisia.

Thursday’s guests have only won one of their last six matches in all competitions, a 1-0 victory away at Eritrea. Four of Sudan’s last six outings have produced under 2.5 goals, and the visitors have only failed to score in two of their last six international matches.

Forebet have backed Ghana to win on Thursday and believe that under 2.5 goals will be scored in the process. Sudan failed to score in their last tricky away game against Tunisia, while Ghana have stopped their opponents from scoring in three of their last five outings.

A clean sheet looks set to be accompanied by three more points for the Black Stars this Thursday, with Ghana expected to maintain their 100% start to the qualification process.
