Wolverhampton Wanderers and Crystal Palace are locked on ten points as the two side prepare to kick off Matchday 7 of the 2020/21 Premier League season at Molineux on Friday night.

Thanks to their superior goal difference, ninth-place Palace sit just above tenth-place Wolves. But there is only one goal separating the teams.

Wolves will be aiming to extend their promising unbeaten streak on Friday, following two victories and a draw in their previous three outings.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s men beat Fulham and Leeds either side of the international break, before being held to a draw by Newcastle last weekend.

Wolves enjoyed 64% possession and registered 16 shots against the Magpies. Raul Jimenez thought he’d won the game with a strike on 80 minutes, but Jacob Murphy recused a point for Newcastle late on.

Unsurprisingly, Jimenez has picked up where he left off last season. The Mexican has netted four goals in the opening six games this term.

But for all their attacking power, Wolves have also been very solid at the back. Rui Patricio has already kept three clean sheets, extending his record to seven shutouts in his last ten home league games.

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace ended a three-game winless run by securing a 2-1 victory over Fulham last time out.

Following defeats to Everton and Chelsea and a draw with Brighton, the Eagles returned to winning ways thanks to goals from Jairo Riedewald and Wilfried Zaha.

Zaha has been the star of the show for Roy Hodgson’s side this season, bagging five goals and one assists across the first six matchdays.

However, Palace have not enjoyed playing away from home recently. The Eagles have lost by over 1.5 goals in five of their previous eight away outings in all competitions.

Furthermore, the Eagles have failed to score in six of their last eight games on the road. A low-scoring affair is expected on Friday.

Head-to-head: Wolves claimed a comfortable 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace back in July. In fact, Nuno’s men have only lost one of their previous four meetings with the Eagles.

It is also worth pointing out that each of the last four matches between Wolves and Palace have produced under 2.5 goals.

Team news: Wolves only have one injury concern ahead of Friday’s clash, with long-term absentee Jonny still on the sidelines.

As for Palace, Hodgson could be without as many as nine first-team players this weekend. Gary Cahill, Nathan Ferguson, Wayne Hennessey and Connor Wickham are all definitely unavailable.

With both sides sitting on ten points in mid-table, this is likely to be a cagey affair with very few clear-cut goalscoring opportunities.

Forebet predicts that Wolves and Crystal Palace will produce a low-scoring draw.
