Aston Villa will be aiming to maintain their 100% record when they welcome Leeds United to Villa Park for Friday’s sole Premier League game.

The Villains sit second in the table following four straight victories, while Leeds find themselves tenth having picked up seven points from five games.

Dean Smith’s side kicked off their campaign with a 1-0 victory over Sheffield United before beating Fulham 3-0.

Villa then humiliated defending champions Liverpool with a 7-2 thrashing before edging Leicester 1-0 last weekend.

Not only have Smith’s men netted 12 goals already this season, they also boast the division’s best defensive record.

Emi Martinez has kept three clean sheets in four games, with the Argentine putting his new club one point behind league-leaders Everton.

Jack Grealish (3 goals, 3 assists), Ollie Watkins (3 goals, 1 assist) and John McGinn (1 goal, 4 assists) have all impressed at the other end of the pitch.

Meanwhile, Leeds began with a thrilling 4-3 defeat to Liverpool before beating Fulham by the same scoreline on Matchday 2.

Leeds secure back-to-back wins by beating Sheffield United 1-0 and even managed to hold Manchester City to a 1-1 draw a week later.

However, Marcelo Bielsa’s side come into this game on the back of a 1-0 defeat to Wolves, despite racking up 68% possession and 13 shots.

Overall, Leeds have enjoyed a decent return to top-flight action. But Bielsa will surely be demanding more from his players.

Patrick Bamford has been the star of the show for Leeds this term, notching up three goals and two assists in the opening five games.

Head-to-head: These two sides have mainly competed against each other in the Championship in recent years, with Leeds only losing one of their last six encounters with Villa.

It is worth pointing out both teams have scored in four of the last five meetings between Villa and Leeds, with Villa scoring exactly one goal on three occasions.

Team news: Tom Heaton and Wesley remain long-term absentees for Villa, while Kortney Hause and Keinan Davis are injury doubts.

As for Leeds, key midfielder Kalvin Phillips looks set to be sidelined for up to six weeks. Captain Liam Cooper could also miss out after picking up a minor injury last week.

Having avoided defeat in the final four games of the 2019/20 season, Aston Villa are currently enjoying an eight-game unbeaten streak in the Premier League.

It is also worth mentioning that Villa have claimed four straight victories at home, so Smith’s men will be brimming with confidence heading into this clash.

Forebet predicts that both teams will score on Friday. However, Aston Villa look set to maintain their 100% record with a narrow victory over Leeds.
