Brazil Backed to Beat Bolivia

Brazil start their World Cup qualifying campaign off against a country they really enjoy playing against. Selecao have only lost two of their last 13 matches against Bolivia, picking up eight wins during that period.

The last time the two countries locked horns, Brazil claimed a 3-0 win in 2019. Saturday’s hosts are unbeaten in their last four matches against La Verde and are strong favourites to extend that record.

Brazil won their last international 3-0 against Korea Republic but in general, their performances since winning the Copa America have been disappointing. Brazil have drawn with Colombia, Senegal, and Nigeria, and have lost at home to Peru and Argentina in all their friendlies since September 2019.

However, against Bolivia, Brazil have kept clean sheets in each of their last four matches and have scored a total of 12-goals.

Man City goalkeeper Ederson looks set to start on Saturday, due to the absence of Allison through injury. The aging Thiago Silva has also been called-up along with Coutinho, Casemiro, Neymar, Firmino, and Richarlison. Dani Alves, Alex Sandro, Willian, and Gabriel Hesus are amongst the more familiar names not to have made the squad for one reason or another.

Over 2.5 goals have been scored in four of the last five encounters between Brazil and Bolivia, and Forebet is expecting at least 3-goals to be scored in Saturday’s clash.

Neymar has 61 goals in 101 appearances for his country, while Coutinho offers a goal threat from midfield. Richarlison has impressed for Everton and Brazil over the last couple of years and will be looking to add to his 6 international goals this weekend.

Bolivia’s squad is largely made up of home-based players with only Chumacero, Bejarano, Vaca, and Martins plying their trade in other countries. 33-year old Marcelo Martins is the most recognisable name in the Bolivia side.

The former Shakhtar Donetsk striker is part Brazilian but has scored 18 goals in 76 games for Bolivia and will provide their main threat on Saturday.

The visitors have seen over 2.5 goals scored in each of their last international matches, but five of those games have ended in defeat.

Forebet is backing a home win for Brazil and expects over 2.5 goals to be scored. Bolivia have struggled to score against Brazil in recent years, so a home clean sheet could also be on the cards.
